A new year and a new computer. My old computer (acutually it was only six years old) left a lot to be desired. It crashed often, and was more frustrating then fun.
Now I really don't have much of an excuse not to get to work on my website...that is going to come as soon as I can figure out what how to use the new computer.

The weather here has been definitly winter, but I can not complain when I see the news. I will be glad when the spring weather is here to stay, but don't want to rush time along any faster then it already goes.
I have quilted a lot this last year and have had some fun... (more)

It does not seem possible that almost a year has gone by since I last wrote on this site.
We finally moved in our new home right before Christmas. That was an adventure I hope never to repeat. I am getting to old for this stuff!!!!!!! While my sewing room was still a big mess, and I was going through box after box I finally found the Christmas project I was working on for my secret pal. I did finish it on time...just the nick of time, wrapped it and sent it on it's way. I was unable to attend the Christmas party as our family was coming for a short visit the day of the party. I forgot to... (more)

The Show is over !

The quilt show is over for another year. It was wonderful as always. For months I look forward to the show, and am hard at work finishing the quilts I have entered. This year only days before the opening of the show, my husband had to be in Seattle for four days. This was not on the agenda!!!! I had to make a snap decision...in about three minutes. I could go with him, and visit our daughter and her family...or stay and enjoy all three days of the show. It really was no decision at all. Even though I had been to Seattle only ten days before, and spent a week, I wanted to return and spend time... (more)

The weather has been beautiful in the Northwest. Each Friday I either take care of my twin grandchildren for part of the day, or I help their mother. We spent a month in May going to the Y to swim. That came to a halt once school was out and swim lessons were going on at the Y. We have been to Greenbluff to pick fruit at the local orchards, and spent days playing on the front porch in their sand box.

I have been busy working on my quilts for the quilt show the first of October. Two down, and two that are half way finished. I need to quilt them before the move, as I do not know how fast the... (more)

I have neglected this website for months and need to catch up. Life just seems to get busier and busier. We are building a new home...yes STILL! It is turning out even better then I could have imagined. I am so happy with everything. We have done a lot of catching little things, that we are not happy about, before they are final. I think that I am about done editing! The only thing left for me to do is choose the paint numbers. I have a really good idea about what colors go where, but I still have to narrow done my choices. I have spent a lot of time going for this...or going for that...I... (more)

Update on quilting

The month of January was nice here. We only had one really cold spell that lasted for a week. I finished Carlie's baby quilt in time to take it to Salem, Ore. for her baby shower January 15. She arrive on February the 6th, which is about three weeks early. As of now she is still in hospital. Her birth weight was 5 lb7 oz. She was very healthy, just is not eating as she needs to in order to leave the hospital.

I worked on my Dear Jane blocks, and finished four. They were very fun to do. I kept tripping over a quilt and the fabric I had started in 1998. It is totally made of plaid fabric. ... (more)

A New Year

Another year is starting. I spent some time last week going through my list of quilting projects that I had finished this past year. I accomplished everything I set out to do. It was fun to get a list together of the old and new quilts that I want to do this year. I have three "oldies but goodies" that I have plans to finish in 2005, and I have more then a half of a dozen that I want to make. We will see how far I get.

The last day of the year I finished my Secret Sister's Christmas present. For the past two years we have held our dinner and Christmas party until the first of January.... (more)

Lutherhaven

The annual fall retreat at Lutherhaven was last weekend and we had a blast. It was really cold at the lake, but we had a roaring fire!

There were a couple of new faces, but mostly friends that we have made in the last ten years. Our friend Sandy drove from Seattle to be with us again, and is planning on comming to the Spring retreat in April. This is the only time many of us see her. My youngest daughter is building a home in the same part of Seattle she lives in, so we will get togehter when I go see Camille and her family.

There was a whole lot of quilting going on, although... (more)

Another year is almost over, and when I look back I am pleased with the projects that I have started, and pleased with the ones that I have finished. I am putting the final borders on my "Christmas Ivy" quilt and want to have it done by Thanksgiving. I have to finish my gift for my "Secret Sister" at our Christmas party in December.
Last weekend I went to Wenatchee, Washington, for their quilt show with my friend Cheryl. We had a great time. We left early Saturday morning for the 189 mile trip. Both of our husbands suggested that we get a hotel and spend the night. We were so glad that we... (more)

I have already walked, showered, and getting ready to go meet my friends for the Quilt show. We are going to meet at the Olive Garden for lunch at 11:30 to miss the crowds. It is going to be a fun day of shopping at all the vendors, and looking at over 500 quilt entries.

This is one of the events we look forward to every year!
